Title: Baqeri Tours Officials: Resistance is the Foundation of Stability and Security in the Region

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Baqeri Kani pointed out that "consultation is ongoing and continuous with officials in Lebanon, and we always support efforts for security and stability in this country," thanking "the Lebanese government for the three-day mourning period following the martyrdom of the Iranian president." He considered that "resistance is the foundation of stability in the region," noting that "we agreed on an initiative to hold an emergency meeting of member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation." The Iranian minister's remarks came during his meeting with Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib at the ministry, where the latter noted that "we discussed the necessity of stopping the Gaza war, and Baqeri affirmed Iran's interest in Lebanon's stability."

Then, Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Baqeri Kani proceeded to Ain al-Tineh to meet the Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri. Afterwards, the Iranian minister headed to the Grand Serail, meeting with Prime Minister Najib Mikati.

Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Baqeri Kani arrived this morning at the General Aviation building in Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut for his first visit to Lebanon. He began his visit with a meeting with Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib. The Iranian news agency "Tasnim" announced that Acting Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Baqeri Kani left Tehran this morning heading to Beirut. It stated: "This visit aims to discuss bilateral relations between Iran and Lebanon and exchange views on regional and international issues, especially the latest developments in Palestine. Baqeri will meet with senior Lebanese officials during the visit."
