Carlos Alcaraz, the world number one, showcased the superiority of the new generation by defeating veteran Novak Djokovic to win the Wimbledon tennis title for the first time, triumphing with scores of (1-6), (7-6), (6-1), (3-6), and (6-4) on Sunday. The 36-year-old Serbian player had dominated Wimbledon for a decade, but today faced a tough competitor and ultimately could not secure another victory.
After breaking his seasoned opponent's serve and going ahead (2-1) in the fifth set thanks to a powerful successful shot, Djokovic lost his temper and smashed his racket. He received his second warning of the match after having previously been cautioned for taking too long to serve. However, all of this did not affect Alcaraz's focus, making him the youngest player in 37 years to win the title, following a forehand from Djokovic into the net. The Spanish player fell to the ground in celebration of his precious victory over the defending champion.
