The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator Martin Griffiths stated on Wednesday that "international law should not differentiate between any party accused of committing war crimes." Griffiths, in exclusive remarks to "Sky News Arabia," added that there is no cooperation with Hamas in Gaza regarding aid, and there is no doubt that Hamas committed a terrorist act on October 7, emphasizing that "Gaza should be governed by the Palestinians after the war." He continued, saying, "The war in Gaza is still far from over," adding, "Famine is ongoing in Gaza and it is affecting children first."
The UN Humanitarian Coordinator further stated, "We believe that the casualty figures coming from Gaza are accurate, contrary to what Israel claims, and there is direct targeting by the Israeli side of UNRWA institutions in Gaza." Griffiths praised the "very positive" role of the United Arab Emirates in seeking a resolution for governing Gaza after the war.
Additionally, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, said in a statement to CNN that the court is seeking to issue arrest warrants against Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in relation to the October 7 attack and the Gaza war.
