A source following the communications and initiatives stated in a conversation with Kuwaiti news that reaching a solution through internal dialogue has become increasingly difficult due to each party's insistence on its positions. The options concerning the presidency must be imposed on the Lebanese parties by securing a large majority's approval to ensure the success of any settlement.
The source added, "In this context, reliance on the Arab role remains a cornerstone of any solution, given its connection to the future of the Palestinian cause, which concerns all Arabs and cannot be regarded with indifference. Since the Arab role is central to the solution, whether in securing the necessary support and guarantees for the future after the truce or agreement, or in shouldering the enormous cost of reconstruction, which requires concerted efforts. Solutions must be based on solid foundations that do not risk collapsing at every turn, and this can only be achieved through coordination with effective international powers."
The source continued, "The Arab effort toward a solution in Lebanon is still cautiously progressing. Hence, communications with Lebanese parties occur, either through envoys who operate away from the media or through frequent visits by Lebanese parties." The source noted that some flexibility can be observed in the positions of several parties. Regarding the Shiite duo, they remain steadfast in their belief that matters will ultimately favor them, and they will not approve any solution without their consent.
