Meanwhile, Russia announced new territorial gains on the battlefield, claiming control over a village in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported in its daily briefing that "Russian units continued to advance deeper into Ukraine's defenses," adding that they had taken control of "the town of Staro Maiaorskoye." Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that the situation along the entire front line in the Donetsk region is "the most difficult."
