Libya's Interior Ministry Announces Reopening of Ras Jdir Crossing

The spokesperson for the Libyan Ministry of Interior, Abdulmenem Al-Arabi, confirmed that the Ras Jdir border crossing with Tunisia will be reopened tomorrow, Monday, after a series of delays. It is worth noting that the ministry had postponed the opening of the crossing three times without providing reasons for the delays. Earlier, the Ministry of Interior announced the complete opening of the crossing for travelers on June 24, except for large trucks, the movement of which will be determined later. However, the opening was canceled due to the closure of the coastal road leading to the crossing by protesters. In this context, the head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, met with representatives of the protesters, promising to fulfill all their demands. Ras Jdir is the main border crossing between the two countries in western Libya, where Libyans often travel to Tunisia for medical treatment, and cargo trucks cross in the opposite direction.
