Fadi Daoud, the fire brigade commander in the Syrian governorate of Sweida, announced the extinguishing of 22 fires in the region yesterday, covering an area of over 22 dunams of forest land and 40 dunams of fruit trees. Daoud noted that "the total number of fires extinguished yesterday reached 22, with the largest being a forest fire on the mountain road that affected 20 dunams of forest land and fruit trees, as well as a fire on the Thala road that destroyed 4 dunams of wheat and mulberry trees. Furthermore, there was a forest fire in the Hiyor Al-Louz area north of Suwaida Restaurant that impacted 40-50 dunams of fruit trees." The forest fire in the village of Majdal was also extinguished, which affected one and a half dunams of wheat, while the remaining fires concentrated on areas of dry grass, one of which impacted fruit trees in the village of Qanawat.
