The French Rugby Federation has suspended fullback Melvin Jaminet after he posted a video clip containing racist comments about Arabs. In the video, the 25-year-old player from Toulon stated: "I will hit the first Arab I meet on my way."
The French Rugby Federation condemned Jaminet's remarks, stating: "We strongly denounce the statements made by Melvin Jaminet in a video recently shared on social media. Such comments are absolutely unacceptable and contradict the core values of our sport. Therefore, he has been immediately suspended and will leave the national team's camp currently held in Argentina."
The player apologized for his remarks, writing on Instagram: "I understand that this may have caused harm and offended many people, and I want to clarify that these comments do not reflect my values or the values of the French rugby team. Racism in all its forms is unacceptable and contradicts everything I believe in."
