Abdullah bin Zayed and Blinken Discuss Efforts to Ceasefire in Gaza and Protect Civilians

The UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with his American counterpart Antony Blinken on the sidelines of the International Conference on Emergency Humanitarian Response in Gaza, held today at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center near the Dead Sea in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The two sides discussed several issues related to the conference agenda, as well as regional and international diplomatic efforts to achieve a ceasefire, protect the lives of all civilians, and provide adequate and sustainable humanitarian response for civilians in the Gaza Strip.

During his talks with Blinken, the UAE Foreign Minister praised U.S. President Joe Biden’s proposals for a ceasefire in Gaza announced recently, which resulted in the UN Security Council adopting a draft resolution yesterday (Monday) formulated by Washington based on these proposals.

He also reiterated the importance of seriously and positively addressing these efforts to de-escalate the situation, protect the lives of all civilians, and alleviate the worsening humanitarian crisis faced by civilians in Gaza.
