The filly "Areej" from "Yas Horse Racing Management" has won the Al Wathba Cup "Stallions" for purebred Arabian horses, which took place today, Saturday, at the Tarbes racetrack in France, sponsored by the 16th edition of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan's Racing Festival. The race featured 12 fillies aged 4 years running a distance of 2100 meters. Areej quickly took the lead, finishing first by a margin of 3.5 lengths ahead of "Valala" by René Lor Koch, clocking a time of 2:18.70. The third place was taken by the filly "Dariyah" owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani. The festival includes races such as the Sheikh Zayed Crown Jewel, the Zayed Cup, the Fatima bint Mubarak Cup, the Al Wathba "Stallions" Cup, and the Global Gathering for Arabian Horse Racing. The first races of the festival commenced last January, and new races have been added this 2024 season, bringing the total to 150 local and international races, including Group one, two, and three races.
