Death of Hezbollah Official in Marun al-Ras: Who is Muhammad Alawiya?

The Hezbollah official for the Marun al-Ras area, Muhammad Alawiya, has died from injuries sustained in an airstrike that targeted his vehicle on February 12 in southern Lebanon. The strike was conducted by Israel in the city of Bint Jbeil using a missile launched from a drone, which directly hit the vehicle, leaving a hole in its roof. Alawiya was one of the local officials in Hezbollah, and security sources told "Blinkx" that the vehicle targeted was his, and its license plates were removed immediately to avoid being photographed or having the number recorded. According to the photos, the vehicle was ordinary and not armored, and sources indicated that Alawiya was on his way home to the town of Marun al-Ras. Meanwhile, Israeli Army spokesperson Avichai Adraee published a video on his account on the platform "X," documenting the moment the vehicle was struck by the drone. The video showed how the drone tracked the vehicle as it moved along a secondary road before launching a missile at it. Medical sources stated that Alawiya suffered a direct injury, leading to surgeries to amputate his hand and leg due to the severity of the injury. The site of the strike is about 4 kilometers from the town of Marun al-Ras, which is in a high mountainous area overlooking several Israeli settlements such as Avivim, Yaroun, and al-Malkiya. Local sources say that Alawiya was the "Hezbollah link" in the border area of Marun al-Ras, adjacent to the borders with Israel. Regarding Alawiya's role in the party, sources indicated that he was a "social officer" in his area, tasked by the party with overseeing social and public affairs.
