The Minister of Public Health in the caretaker government, Firas al-Abiad, held a meeting in his office at the ministry dedicated to following up on the conditions of the Minieh Government Hospital specifically, as part of his interest in enhancing the conditions of public hospitals in general.
Initially, Minister al-Abiad showed great concern for the problems faced by the hospital's staff and the challenges they encounter. In this regard, he issued urgent directives to begin working on resolving this issue in close coordination with the Ministry of Health, emphasizing his commitment to improving the work environment and enhancing competencies in health institutions.
The minister clarified that "the dialysis unit in the hospital has reached its final stages of construction, and the equipping phase will begin immediately after the completion of the construction works," noting that "this development will contribute to enhancing the hospital's ability to provide excellent dialysis services to patients in Minieh and neighboring areas."
He confirmed that "several developmental projects are being prepared for the Minieh Government Hospital, in cooperation with donor agencies, which will help increase the medical services provided, with details of these projects to be announced soon."
Additionally, the Minister of Health briefed those present about his recent visit to Australia and his meeting with the "Sons of Minieh Association in Sydney," who expressed their readiness to support the Minieh Government Hospital by establishing new departments as a contribution from the people of Minieh in Australia to enhance the hospital's capacity to meet all the needs of residents, particularly in Minieh, northern Lebanon, and Lebanon in general.
