Egypt Informs Israel of Hezbollah Military Movement

Hebrew Channel 13 reported on Saturday evening that Egypt informed Israel that "Hezbollah" will invade northern settlements if Tel Aviv conducts a ground military operation in Gaza. Earlier that day, the Lebanese Hezbollah commented on the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation launched by Hamas, stating that "the leadership of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon is closely monitoring the significant developments on the Palestinian front."

In the same context, the official spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, announced that "Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi received a phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron, discussing coordination and consultation regarding efforts to halt the ongoing escalation in Gaza between the Palestinian and Israeli sides."

Fahmy noted in a statement that "the two presidents expressed serious concern regarding the escalating and dangerous events, emphasizing the necessity for all international and regional efforts to focus on stopping the escalation and violence, and exercising maximum restraint to contain the situation and prevent further loss of life."

Fahmy mentioned that "Al-Sisi highlighted Egypt's intensive communications with both the Israeli and Palestinian sides, as well as with effective international and regional parties, to contain the current escalation, warning of the dangers of worsening conditions and slipping into further violence, and the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Gaza, which threatens regional stability and security."

Additionally, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced that Minister Sameh Shoukry conducted a phone call with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, during which they discussed the Security Council's role in stopping the Palestinian-Israeli escalation.

The official spokesperson for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Ahmed Abu Zeid, stated that the two ministers emphasized the urgent need to halt the ongoing escalation against Gaza and the violent confrontations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, particularly in light of the Security Council session scheduled for Sunday, called by the Brazilian presidency of the council.

The spokesperson revealed that Minister Shoukry assured his Russian counterpart about the importance of the Security Council taking responsibility in dealing with the Palestinian issue from a comprehensive and integrated perspective, and putting in place measures that protect Palestinian rights, foremost among them the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state.
