The Baghdad Rusafa Police Command announced today, Wednesday, the arrest of a suspect who murdered his brother and his family in the Sadr City area, east of the capital. The command stated in a statement received by "Baghdad Today" that "upon receiving information about a murder incident in the Sadr City area, a team was immediately dispatched to the scene."
The command explained in its statement that "a specialized task force was formed to gather information, monitor surveillance cameras, and conduct a thorough investigation," noting that "it was revealed that the perpetrator killed his brother's family, consisting of three individuals, with several gunshots from a Kalashnikov rifle following family disputes before fleeing the scene."
It confirmed that "the perpetrator of the crime was arrested in a timely manner shortly after committing the crime after a well-laid ambush was set for him in the Al-Shuhada area, and he has been placed in detention to complete the legal procedures against him."
