U.S. Military: Destruction of 7 Radar Systems in Yemen Used by Houthi Forces

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) published an update regarding clashes with the Houthi group in Yemen over the past 24 hours. In a statement, it noted: "During the last 24 hours, U.S. Central Command forces successfully destroyed two Houthi unmanned boats in the Red Sea. Additionally, U.S. Central Command forces destroyed a drone launched from a Houthi-controlled area in Yemen over the Red Sea."

It continued: "Separately, U.S. Central Command forces successfully destroyed seven Iran-backed Houthi radar systems in an area under their control in Yemen. These radars allow the Houthis to target naval vessels and pose a threat to commercial shipping."

It added: "These weapons were determined to represent an imminent threat to the United States, coalition forces, and commercial vessels in the region. This action was taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer for American and coalition vessels, as well as commercial shipping."
