Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike on a building between the towns of Janata and Deir Qanun al-Nahr in southern Lebanon, resulting in the death of a woman and injuries among civilians. Reports indicated that the targeted house housed several Hezbollah leaders. Israeli radio later stated that the strike was not an assassination attempt but targeted a Hezbollah base.
The National News Agency announced that "the hostile warplanes launched an airstrike targeting a house" in the town of Janata, located in the Tyre region approximately 21 kilometers from the nearest point on the Israeli border, leading to the "martyrdom of a citizen" and injuring "at least seven civilians." The injured were transferred to Salah Gondor Hospital in Bent Jbeil.
Local journalists shared images and videos showing significant destruction caused by the airstrike to a multi-story building, while ambulances transported dozens of injured individuals, including children, to hospitals in the area. The airstrike followed Hezbollah's announcement that its fighters had conducted a "joint attack with missiles and drones" on nine military sites. The group stated it targeted "six military barracks and sites" in northern Israel and the occupied Golan Heights.
