The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, stated that this constitutes "a violation of the holy Al-Aqsa and an aggression against the first qibla of Muslims, representing provocation and disregard for their spiritual feelings, under the decision of the Israeli government and protection from its security forces." A spokesperson for Aboul Gheit told "Sky News" that "this blatant incursion comes as part of the Netanyahu government starting to implement its extremist program and settlement agenda, with all the potential risks of igniting the situation in Jerusalem and the occupied territories in a highly dangerous manner." He also relayed Aboul Gheit's assurance that "the Netanyahu government bears full responsibility for Ben Gvir's incursion, and for these practices and extreme right-wing plans and their repercussions on Palestine and the entire region, as well as on global peace, including the potential for igniting a religious war."
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the incursion of Israeli security minister from the right-wing, Itamar Ben Gvir, into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, describing it as an unprecedented provocation. They also confirmed that this incursion legitimizes further incursions and the breach of Al-Aqsa by settlers, holding the Netanyahu government responsible for its consequences.
This morning, Ben Gvir entered the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy protection from the Israeli police and without prior announcement. The Palestinian health ministry reported that Israeli forces killed a child with gunfire during their incursion into Bethlehem. A large contingent of the Israeli army also entered the city of Jenin and its camp, arresting two Palestinians. A correspondent for "Al Arabiya" and "Al Hadath" noted that Israeli units infiltrated Jenin and its camp, followed by the incursion of many Israeli army vehicles, pointing out that clashes erupted between youths and Israeli forces in several areas during this incursion.
