Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman announced the signing of contracts for the second phase of the "Jafurah Field" project and the third phase of the "Main Gas Network Expansion" project in the country. Bin Salman stated, "The current capacity of the main gas network is approximately 4,000 kilowatts, and the project will connect to 40 facilities, including power plants, water desalination plants, and petrochemical production factories." He added, "I confidently repeat that those who did not participate in buying Aramco shares will regret it, and no one will surpass us in reducing the cost of energy production in all its forms." He confirmed that the Jafurah Field is the largest in the Middle East, with confirmed reserves estimated at 200 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. The field's basin extends to 17 square kilometers, and the contracts signed for the development of the field in the first phase are estimated at about 10 billion dollars. The project aims to produce 420 million standard cubic feet by 2030, in addition to 630,000 barrels of natural gas liquids and condensates by 2030. The field will also provide 500,000 barrels of crude oil equivalent to natural gas for local consumption, with the length of the main transportation pipelines, flow lines, and gathering lines for gas reaching 1,500 kilometers. Development of the field began in 2021, with expected production commencing in 2025.
