Israel Recovers Bodies of 6 Hostages

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that "the army and the Shin Bet managed last night to recover the bodies of 6 Israeli hostages from the Gaza Strip." The forum representing families of hostages and missing persons welcomed this news but reiterated its call for the government to reach an agreement with Hamas for the release of the remaining hostages. It stated, "The immediate return of the remaining 109 hostages can only happen through reaching a negotiated agreement. The Israeli government must do everything possible, with the help of mediators, to finalize the agreement currently on the table." Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid commented on the recovery of the bodies, saying, "Days pass and we lose more hostages, and we need to make a deal now."
