Shocking new footage has shown a 14-foot swollen crocodile with the body of a 41-year-old woman inside its belly. The crocodile had eaten Sabrina Beckham after dragging her into a canal in Clearwater. Beckham was homeless at the time and had been staying at a nearby camp.
Newly released footage by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reveals the aftermath of the deadly attack. The video shows the massive crocodile surrounded by police shortly after it was shot dead. Its stomach is visibly swollen with Beckham inside.
In September of last year, a passerby raised the alarm after spotting the crocodile with what appeared to be a body in its mouth. Shortly after, several locals witnessed the horrifying scene as the crocodile pulled its prey away, with some even recording the event.
Emergency responders, in collaboration with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, managed to retrieve the crocodile from the water before shooting it, with officials describing it as having been "humanely killed" following the horrific attack. Officers closed the animal's mouth and used ropes and chains to pull it from the canal, according to Fox13. They had to cut open its side to remove some of Beckham's remains.
