No one knows yet who planted the internal surveillance camera that managed to capture an explicit video last week, which spread across media and social networks. In it, a British prison officer, of the rank of officer, is seen engaging multiple times in a "sexual encounter" with an inmate in his cell at HMP Wandsworth in southwest London.
Police have detained the officer, Linda De Sousa Abreu, who appeared on Monday before a magistrates' court in the nearby town of Uxbridge, charged with "misconduct in public office," according to what "Al Arabiya.net" summarized from local media reports. These reports also noted that the court was informed police arrested Officer De Sousa while she was attempting to travel last Saturday with a Portuguese passport from Heathrow Airport in London to Madrid.
During the session, De Sousa spoke only to confirm her name, date of birth, and address. The court ordered her release on conditional bail, prohibiting her from entering any airport or port in the UK, and requiring her to comply with a daily curfew from 7 PM to 9 AM, until her hearing on the 29th in Isleworth Crown Court regarding the charges against her. She is accused of "misconduct between July 26 and July 28, intentionally and without reasonable excuse, by engaging in a sexual act with one of the inmates in a cell" inside the prison.
So far, it is known that 30-year-old Linda De Sousa Abreu is of Brazilian origin, holds both British and Portuguese citizenship, and shares an OnlyFans account with her husband, a mixed martial arts fighter, British Nathan Richardson, who is one year younger than her. A spokesperson for the prison service stated that "staff corruption will not be tolerated, and the police were informed about the prison officer and what was shown in the video."
