Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Arabia's Prime Minister, affirmed his country's support for the Palestinian people to attain their legitimate rights for a dignified life, and to achieve their aspirations and ambitions for a just and lasting peace. This came during phone calls with Jordan's King Abdullah II, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, where they discussed the military escalation in Gaza and its surroundings, as well as the worsening situation that threatens the lives of civilians and the security and stability of the region.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman emphasized, in a call with President Abbas, that Saudi Arabia is making every possible effort to communicate with all international and regional parties to halt ongoing escalations and prevent their expansion in the region, stressing the necessity of adhering to international humanitarian law and not targeting civilians. Meanwhile, the Palestinian news agency reported that President Abbas informed Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman about "the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories," expressing deep gratitude to Saudi Arabia and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, as well as the Crown Prince, and highly appreciating their steadfast positions and efforts to support the Palestinian people and their just cause.
In turn, the Jordanian Royal Court noted that King Abdullah II underscored the need to find a political horizon for the Palestinian issue to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, and for Palestinian brothers to obtain their legitimate rights, reiterating the necessity to respect international humanitarian law and protect civilians.
Additionally, the Egyptian presidency clarified that during the phone call between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and President el-Sisi, there was an emphasis on the importance of exercising restraint at this critical stage, prioritizing reason and a path toward de-escalation to prevent the security and humanitarian situations from deteriorating and spiraling out of control. The spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency mentioned that there was also agreement on continuing consultations and coordination between Egypt and Saudi Arabia in the upcoming period to affirm the Arab vision regarding the Palestinian issue, which revolves around achieving a comprehensive and just settlement based on the two-state solution, according to international legitimacy references; this necessitates immediate de-escalation and cessation of military confrontations in all directions.
