The Truth About Sultan Al-Omani's Involvement in the Deadly Attack in Muscat

Some social media users circulated news claiming that former artist Sultan Al-Omani participated in the violent attack that targeted a mosque in Oman last Monday evening. The Royal Oman Police stated that the perpetrators of the terrorist act were three Omani brothers who were killed after resisting security forces during the incident. In an effort to keep the public informed about the developments of the shooting incident in Al-Wadi al-Kabir, it has been confirmed that the three culprits involved in the incident are Omanis, and they died due to their insistence on resisting security forces. Investigations have shown that they were influenced by extremist ideas. The Royal Oman Police reiterated its gratitude to everyone for their follow-up, concern, and commitment to the security and safety of their country. Additionally, the retired artist (Sultan Al-Omani) appeared in a brief video, denying the circulating rumors about his involvement in the terrorist act, stating, "I am innocent of these ideas and of my brothers," emphasizing that he rejects violent and sectarian ideas.

The incident occurred in the Al-Wadi al-Kabir area of Muscat Governorate, resulting in several casualties and injuries. The ISIS organization claimed responsibility for the attack through a video it broadcast at the moment of the attack on the mosque with gunfire, followed by another video in which the three individuals declared their allegiance to the group's caliphate and claimed responsibility for the attack.
