Gaza Baptist Hospital Massacre: Arab and International Condemnations

At least 500 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Baptist Hospital courtyard in the Gaza Strip, according to the health ministry affiliated with Hamas. As news spread and the death toll rose to nearly a thousand, widespread condemnation followed.

Until when?" Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri condemned the massacre, asserting that "Israel slaps humanity in the face with a genocidal crime, targeting not only the Palestinian people but humanity as a whole. Will the world's conscience awaken?" He added, "After Qana and Mansouri, and before them, Deir Yassin, this is… Israel slapping humanity in the face with an unimaginable genocidal crime. Hundreds of martyrs, and the Israeli killing count does not cease. Will the world's conscience awaken to rein in the Israeli killing machine, which, believe me, targets not just the Palestinian people, but humanity as a whole?"

The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the heinous war crime that resulted in hundreds of Palestinian civilian martyrs and wounded individuals at the Baptist Hospital in Gaza after the Israeli bombing. The ministry stated: "Once again, Israel disregards international law, committing a war crime against humanity against a besieged people, being deliberately exterminated en masse." Lebanon reiterated its call for immediate international intervention to stop Israeli massacres and the gunfire, to allow humanitarian and medical aid into the Gaza Strip and treat the wounded.

From the Progressive Socialist Party's media office, the statement read: "Israel's crimes expose its brutality, supported by international complicity in this atrocity. The sinful attack on the Baptist Hospital in Gaza is a documented war crime, and beyond all that, some seek to criminalize the victim. All mercy to the martyrs of Palestine, condemnation of the complicit international silence, and condemnation of the terrorist state—Israel—which signs its name with the blood of Gaza’s inhabitants."

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri condemned "the new Israeli crime against humanity," adding it is a continuation of Israel's criminal record and calling for an end to this ongoing atrocity.
