The Assistant to the Head of the Judiciary in Iran, Sadegh Rahimi, announced the formation of a judicial file regarding the assassination of the head of Hamas' political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, and issued an order to determine and arrest "anyone proven to have neglected or exploited by the enemy as an agent in the assassination case." In a press statement on Saturday regarding Haniyeh's assassination in Tehran, Rahimi stated: "The martyr Haniyeh was a guest in our country, and based on that, the legal right to respond to this cowardly assassination is preserved for the Islamic Republic of Iran." He added: "This crime was committed by the Zionist entity, and we have no doubt about that. However, whether the Zionist entity executed this crime directly or through agents and spies is under investigation and follow-up." Rahimi indicated that the United States and Israel are "at the forefront of human rights violators in the world... since the beginning of the Gaza War, 40,000 people in the sector have been martyred due to Zionist aggression, including 17,000 children."
