Israeli Army: We Found Hamas's Precious Treasure in Gaza

The Israeli army stated that the intelligence and technical spoils collection unit of the military intelligence directorate has focused on collecting and researching Hamas's spoils since the start of the war and ground maneuvering. In a statement, it mentioned that the unit primarily comprises reserve soldiers, and its role is to extract intelligence from the spoils confiscated by all fighting forces in the field.

It noted that the unit analyzes what it has obtained and extracts operational evidence that improves the activities of Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip. This method helps the unit to extract intelligence and transfer it to the operational side while also assisting in maintaining the security of the forces in the field. The army asserted that since the beginning of the fighting, thousands of documents and technical spoils have been collected by maneuvering forces, which have been converted to extract vital intelligence.

The statement further explained that the maneuvering of the army's forces in Hamas strongholds and the transfer of intelligence and technical spoils for in-depth research add a crucial building block to the intelligence picture from the tactical level up to the strategic level, allowing for the development of intelligence concepts that reach the operational side. This involves examining materials according to their type and in partnership with various collection and research bodies affiliated with the national intelligence institution.

According to the army's statement, among the documents found was a tunnel map seized by "Division 252" in the home of the deputy commander of Hamas's Beit Hanoun Battalion. The division also collected evidence explaining the map in the home of another member. The army clarified that once the materials were entered into the system, the important connection between the map and the evidence allowed for the destruction of a large number of tunnel openings.

The army's statement also mentioned that it possesses over 65 million files and half a million documents, including operational plans and combat doctrine methods specific to Hamas. It confirmed in the statement that the intelligence and technical spoils system received a Hamas map indicating the location of a tunnel opening, seized by Division 36 at the home of one of the aides to the commander of the Shuja'iyya Battalion, Wissam Farhat. It noted that after initial processing by Unit 9900, a rapid grip was established in front of the forces in the field, and the tunnel opening next to its forces in the sector was located and neutralized by engineering forces.

The Israeli army published a set of documents that it claimed to have found belonging to Hamas.
