Ministry of Foreign Affairs Condemns Israel's Attack on the

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned today, Saturday, "in the strongest terms the targeting by the Israeli occupation forces of the 'Tawabeen' school, which shelters displaced Palestinian civilians in eastern Gaza City, with three missiles that directly hit the school's prayer hall, resulting in the deaths of more than one hundred Palestinian citizens and dozens of injuries." In a statement, it indicated that "the systematic indiscriminate shelling by the Israeli occupation army and the killing of children and civilians is clear evidence of the Israeli government's disregard for international law and humanitarian law."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates noted that "the continued perpetration of crimes against Palestinians and the deliberate targeting of such a large number of unarmed civilians, whenever international mediators intensify efforts to reach a ceasefire in the sector, provides conclusive evidence of Israel's intention to prolong the war and expand its scope."

It concluded: "In light of these escalating practices adopted by Israel recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates calls on the international community and relevant countries to adopt a unified, serious, and effective international stance, firstly, to provide protection to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and to put an end to this humanitarian disaster, as stopping the aggression against Gaza is the first step toward de-escalation and prevention of a wider conflict in the region. Secondly, to activate the peaceful diplomatic track through serious steps that obligate the Israeli side to accept the two-state solution in accordance with relevant international legitimacy resolutions."
