On Thursday, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, stated that "the United Arab Emirates believes that achieving security, stability, and peace in the region starts with a sustainable and just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and a political path leading to a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state that lives in peace and security alongside the State of Israel, in accordance with bilateral agreements and international law, and goes hand in hand with enhancing humanitarian response to the current tragic situation in the Gaza Strip."
She added that "the United Arab Emirates continues, within the framework of its historic commitment to the brotherly Palestinian people and under the guidance of its wise leadership, to provide urgent humanitarian assistance and supplies to the sector, and has spared no effort in extending a helping hand to Palestinian brothers and presenting initiatives for their relief by land, sea, or air." She noted that the state has transported 38,180 tons of urgent supplies to the sector over the past ten months via 8 ships, 1,243 trucks, and 334 air flights, including 50 aerial drops.
Al Hashimy continued that the United Arab Emirates will continue its diligent work and take a leading role alongside the United Nations and international partners to amplify the necessary efforts to support initiatives aimed at alleviating humanitarian suffering. She emphasized that the UAE believes that returning to the tragic situation that prevailed before October 7, 2023, cannot achieve the aspirations of Palestinians, Israelis, and everyone for sustainable peace, and that the UAE sees the establishment of stability and security in the Palestinian territories and the wider region beginning with an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the release of all prisoners and hostages.
