Officially.. Here are the Candidates for the Algerian Presidential Elections

The Algerian Constitutional Council has officially announced the final list of candidates for the presidential elections scheduled for September 7th. The President of the Constitutional Council, Omar Belhaj, stated at a press conference that "the final list of candidates includes Youssef Ouchich from the Front of Socialist Forces, Abdelmadjid Tebboune as an independent candidate, and Abdelali Hassani Cherif from the Movement for Society and Peace." Belhaj noted that the Constitutional Council held closed sessions in recent days to review the appeals filed with the court's registry, which numbered five. They also met today to approve the final list of candidates for the presidential election. All appeals were examined transparently, giving equal importance to each appeal based on the principles of constitutional justice, considering that it is an independent institution tasked with upholding the constitution. Belhaj confirmed that "the court looked into the grounds for the appeals and, after a manual count of the forms and matching them with electronic processing, the court began auditing the forms and the information contained therein. The court also noted the presence of blank forms within some candidates' files." After deliberation, the court decided to accept four appeals formally while rejecting them on the merits. Additionally, one appeal was not accepted due to being submitted outside the deadline. He revealed that after completing the procedures, the final list of candidates for the presidency scheduled for September 7th was approved, arranged alphabetically: Youssef Ouchich from the Front of Socialist Forces, Abdelmadjid Tebboune as an independent candidate, and Abdelali Hassani Cherif from the Movement for Society and Peace.
