What is the Truth Behind the Exclusion of Rowing Player

News has circulated about the "exclusion" of Egyptian athlete Aya El-Sayed from the rowing events at the Paris 2024 Olympics after she "got lost" in the Seine River, but what is the truth behind this news? The Egyptian Rowing Federation has come out to deny these reports. However, some Egyptian channels and accounts published a photo claiming it was of the Egyptian player who "got lost" during rowing competitions at the "Paris Olympics".

The photo is of me, a Saudi rowing player named Kariman Abuljadayel. I request that my photo not be circulated with news of the Egyptian rower Aya El-Sayed, if there is a player by that name, as some have questioned the news and others have denied it. — Kariman Abuljadayel (@TheKariman) July 30, 2024

In this context, a Saudi athlete named Kariman Abuljadayel clarified the situation regarding the circulating photo, which was claimed by Egyptian channels and accounts to be of the Egyptian player Aya El-Sayed. Abuljadayel wrote on her official account on the "X" platform on Tuesday evening: "The photo that is circulating about Aya El-Sayed is my photo.. I am a Saudi rowing player named Kariman."

Abuljadayel warned against circulating her image alongside the news relating to Aya El-Sayed, expressing doubt about the existence of an Egyptian player by that name participating in the Olympic Games due to the conflicting reports between confirmations and denials.

The Egyptian Rowing Federation released a statement confirming that there is no athlete by that name participating in the 2024 Summer Olympics, noting that they are sending only three players: Abdel Khalek El-Banna, Ahmed Khaled, and Mohamed Qutah. The federation urged everyone not to follow misleading news and the importance of obtaining information from official sources.
