In a post on the "X" account by Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee, it was announced that the Israeli army targeted a drone storage infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah in the southern suburb of Beirut.
Adraee explained that the facility, associated with Hezbollah's Air Unit 121, was used for storing drones. He described the operation as part of a continuous escalation with the party.
He confirmed that the Israeli attack targeted this facility located in a densely populated civilian area. He pointed out that Hezbollah had moved the facility to the area to use Lebanese civilians as human shields.
He emphasized that the Israeli army had issued evacuation warnings to the residents in the area before carrying out the strike, a step Israel usually follows in its military operations, which the Israeli army describes as its responsibility towards protecting civilians.
Adraee considered the rocket fire towards the Upper Galilee this morning as a "blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon," and that it poses a direct threat to Israeli citizens. He added that "the Lebanese state bears the responsibility of maintaining the agreement," highlighting the necessity of protecting the borders and not allowing any security threats from Hezbollah.
Regarding future steps, Adraee affirmed that "the Defense Army will continue its operations to ensure the removal of any security threats that pose a danger to the State of Israel," reiterating his assertions on the continued escalation of operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
