Erdogan Links Turkey's Security to Stability in Aleppo, Damascus, and Beirut

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has issued strong political and security messages concerning the rapidly evolving developments in the region, emphasizing that Turkey's security is not limited to its immediate geographical boundaries but is closely tied to the stability of surrounding countries and regions.

In a speech delivered at the Justice and Development Party's parliamentary group meeting, Erdogan stressed that Ankara will not allow new realities to be imposed in the region or allow the passage of what he termed as 'promised land' projects, affirming that Turkey is aware of these schemes and will counter any attempts to implement them.

The Turkish president explained that his country's national security concept extends beyond official borders, stating that Turkey's security begins from Aleppo, Damascus, and Beirut, indicating the interconnection between the stability of neighboring countries and Turkey's strategic interests.

Erdogan affirmed that his country will not tolerate any attempts to destabilize brotherly nations or impose new facts on the ground, stressing that Ankara will not remain a spectator in the face of threats targeting the region's peoples and their security.

In his criticism of Israel, the Turkish president considered Israeli policies a threat to regional and international stability, warning that their repercussions could exceed Middle Eastern boundaries, affecting global security more broadly.

He pointed out that Israeli military operations are no longer confined to the Gaza Strip but have extended to other regional arenas, including Lebanese territories, claiming that the continuation of this approach exacerbates tension and instability.

Erdogan also accused Israel of seeking to expand its influence in various parts of Africa and the eastern Mediterranean, describing these policies as a perpetual source of crises and tensions.

Regarding the eastern Mediterranean, the Turkish president affirmed that his country is closely monitoring ongoing developments in Cyprus, warning against attempts to create new tension zones or infringe upon Turkish and Turkish Cypriots' rights.

Erdogan stressed that Ankara would take a firm stance against any threats to its strategic interests, affirming that Turkey's response would be direct and strong if its rights or national security are jeopardized.

These statements reflect Turkey's commitment to an active role in regional dynamics amid escalating regional tensions and growing security and political challenges in the Middle East and the eastern Mediterranean.
