Iran's Revolutionary Guard Skeptical of Trump's Iran Deal Announcement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has expressed skepticism regarding recent statements by U.S. President Donald Trump about reaching a final understanding with Tehran, emphasizing that Iranian officials have not yet issued any official announcement confirming an agreement with the United States.

In a statement carried by Iranian media, the Revolutionary Guard noted that the recent American statements are part of a series of what they described as inconsistent and inaccurate positions, pointing out that President Trump has made conflicting statements about the course of negotiations and related developments since the beginning of the crisis.

Similarly, Iran's semi-official Tasnim Agency considered Trump's remarks on progress in talks with Tehran cannot be regarded as evidence of a final deal until official confirmation is made by the Iranian side.

The agency stressed that any talk about a potential understanding or agreement must be based on official positions announced by the relevant Iranian authorities, indicating that past experiences highlight the need for caution when dealing with U.S. statements related to negotiations.

The Iranian stance emerged hours after Trump announced the cancellation of planned military strikes against Iran, explaining that his decision came following Iranian leadership's approval of what he described as the "final points" of the agreement currently being negotiated between the parties.

The U.S. President wrote on the "Truth Social" platform that talks with the Islamic Republic have reached the highest levels of Iranian leadership and have been approved, prompting him to cancel the military operations that were scheduled for later in the day.

The divergence between American statements and Iranian positions reflects the uncertainty still surrounding the fate of the negotiations, despite increasing signs of intense efforts to reach a comprehensive settlement to end the recent phase of tension between Washington and Tehran.

In the absence of an official announcement from the Iranian side, attention remains focused on the upcoming positions in the days ahead, which may determine whether the negotiations have truly reached a final agreement or still require further consultations and political decisiveness.
