Pakistani Prime Minister Reveals Washington-Tehran Agreement Developments

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that a final draft for the peace agreement under negotiation between the United States and Iran has been agreed upon. He stressed that Pakistan is continuing to work with both parties to finalize preparations for the next phase of the agreement.

Sharif, in a post on the platform 'X', noted that although there are attempts to undermine the ongoing diplomatic efforts through misinformation campaigns, such actions will not affect the mediation progress that has significantly advanced towards reaching an agreement.

He added that a final text has been agreed upon by both sides, indicating that Islamabad is closely coordinating with Washington and Tehran to complete the necessary political and executive arrangements.

In an additional sign of progress, U.S. President Donald Trump reposted a statement from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who confirmed that reaching a memorandum of understanding is closer than ever.

Araghchi urged the media to avoid speculation regarding the agreement details before the finalization of the text, asserting that all information will be officially announced in due course.

Meanwhile, Iranian media reports indicate that the draft memorandum of understanding contains 14 main items, including a permanent ceasefire, gradual lifting of sanctions, and the release of some frozen Iranian assets, alongside launching intensive negotiations over 60 days to address unresolved issues.

The reports also noted that the agreement does not include any Iranian concessions regarding the management of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most sensitive issues during recent negotiation rounds.

Conversely, the U.S. administration sought to temper high expectations regarding some rumored clauses, with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance emphasizing that much of the circulated information remains inaccurate, and highlighting that the release of Iranian funds will not occur automatically upon signing the agreement or holding political meetings.

This development reflects significant diplomatic progress after months of tensions and military escalations, with increasing hopes that the anticipated agreement will serve as a gateway to reduce regional tensions and restart dialogue between Washington and Tehran in a more stable framework.

Despite positive indicators, eyes remain on the upcoming executive steps and the final official stances of both parties, as these will be pivotal in transforming the current understandings into a practical and implementable agreement.
