The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth has reported, citing Israeli sources, that if Hezbollah targets northern towns, Israel plans to retaliate by striking the Dahiyeh district. The report suggests that Israel will then await Iran's response to the action.
The newspaper further noted that if Iran were to attack Israel simultaneously as Dahiyeh is targeted, Tel Aviv would retaliate and not tolerate the unification of fronts.
Additionally, a source indicated that information available to Israel suggests an agreement between Washington and Tehran includes a ceasefire in Lebanon.
An unnamed security source also stated that Israel would oppose any withdrawal from the mentioned area.
