An Israeli military source confirmed to 'Maariv,' an Israeli newspaper, the ambiguity surrounding the continuation of operations in Lebanon, stating that the air force ceased its attacks on Lebanon since yesterday, Monday.
The newspaper reported a state of confusion and embarrassment within the Israeli security system, revealing that even yesterday, late in the afternoon, both the Israeli army and the security establishment were unaware of the combat objectives in Lebanon.
It was announced that after hours of calm in the northern sector, the air force launched an attack on a 'Hezbollah' operative who approached forces in the Saluki area.
A military source mentioned that this operation aimed to eliminate a direct threat to the forces.
He added, “We continue our operations in the Yellow Line area. We are conducting reconnaissance and raids in villages near the Yellow Line, but our direction is unclear. We are currently preparing plans for every scenario: continuing the fight and escalating, staying in our positions, or withdrawing forces.”
He continued, “We are waiting for orders from our superiors. We will continue our operations until further instructions are received.”
It is noted that two Israeli army divisions, Division 91 and Division 36, are currently stationed in Lebanon.
