An Israeli news site has revealed that the Israeli military is preparing for a potential military strike against Tehran, despite the agreement between the United States and Iran to end hostilities.
According to a report by military editor Amir Bohbot on the Hebrew site 'Walla', despite indicators suggesting the approach of a long-term ceasefire with Iran, and its potential repercussions on the Lebanese front, Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has ordered an increase in the readiness levels for all defensive and offensive scenarios, maintaining a state of high readiness capable of transitioning from zero to one hundred in a short time upon receiving a warning.
The site explained that these directives specifically focus on Air Force pilots across various squadrons, as well as on the air defense system. The scenarios that the Israeli army is preparing for include launching an attack on Iran, alongside the possibility of returning to intense combat in Lebanon.
The site cited Israeli security sources saying there is no anticipated reduction of American forces in the foreseeable future, except for discussions on the possibility of returning Ben Gurion Airport to normal operations by relocating refueling aircraft to other bases. This matter is considered sensitive.
It mentioned that senior Israeli officials view the U.S. army's decision to station a fleet of refueling planes at Ben Gurion Airport as significantly hindering the operations of Israel's primary and largest airport.
The site highlighted that thousands of American soldiers operating air defense systems are present in Israel, participating in the maintenance of a large number of aircraft as part of the military campaign against Iran.
A military source commented that the situation remains fragile, and no one can guarantee with 100% certainty that any political path won't collapse.
'Walla' pointed out that Tehran threatens to attack Tel Aviv if the Israeli military continues its attacks in Lebanon, adding that the army is trying to counter Hezbollah's moves aimed at challenging Israeli forces, in addition to attempts by Lebanese citizens to return to their homes in the south.
According to the Hebrew site, the Israeli army emphasized that it will continue to work to eliminate any immediate threat, according to their claims.
