In a recent attack targeting Syrian army personnel, sources from Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath reported the death of two soldiers shot by unidentified assailants near Manbij in rural Aleppo.
A similar attack occurred two days earlier targeting a Ministry of Defense bus carried out by unidentified individuals on the Tal Tamr - Ras al-Ain road in the countryside of Hasakah.
The Ministry of Interior announced last week that one member of the internal security forces was killed and three others injured in a suicide attack by the "ISIS" organization in Raqqa city, northeast of the country.
ISIS Attacks
Notably, several Syrian regions have witnessed multiple attacks targeting internal security and army forces over recent months, with "ISIS" claiming responsibility for several of these attacks, particularly in the provinces of Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor.
In May, two internal security personnel sustained minor injuries when their patrol was fired upon by unidentified assailants on a motorcycle in Raqqa city, with specialized authorities launching investigations to uncover the circumstances.
Additionally, in February, the Ministry of Interior announced the death of four internal security members and the injury of two others in an attack targeting the Sabahiya checkpoint west of Raqqa city, which "ISIS" later claimed responsibility for.
Security forces continue to pursue cells of the terrorist organization, having recently announced the arrest of 235 individuals and the dismantling of seven ISIS-linked cells in recent months across various Syrian provinces.
Following months after the fall of the former regime in December 2024, Syrian authorities announced the unification of all armed factions in the country that fought during the years of civil war to oust former President Bashar al-Assad, under a unified army subordinate to the new Ministry of Defense.
