Cairo Hosts Four-Nation Talks on Iran, Libya, and Gaza

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty engaged in discussions with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and senior advisor to the U.S. President for Arab and African Affairs, Mossad Boulos, focusing on the developments in several regional issues. This consultative meeting took place on Saturday as part of ongoing coordination among the involved parties.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry highlighted that the meeting involved a profound exchange of views on regional developments, with the Iranian file taking prominence following the memorandum of understanding signed between the United States and Iran. Participants emphasized the need to capitalize on this step to reduce tensions and enhance security and stability in the region.

The discussions also covered the situation in Libya, underscoring support for Libyan unity, respect for its sovereignty, and driving the political process forward. The meeting emphasized the importance of unifying national institutions to achieve stability and enhance political settlement opportunities.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the Palestinian issue, particularly the situation in Gaza, alongside discussing developments in Africa and ways to boost cooperation and joint coordination to support security, stability, and confront regional challenges.

This gathering occurs amid a flurry of diplomatic activity in the region, with increasing efforts aimed at containing regional crises and enhancing dialogue and political resolution pathways in several sensitive files.
