The Israeli narrative added: 'During the firefight involving light weapons and rockets, Captain David Hazut was killed and other soldiers were injured. Shortly after, the air force launched a raid to disable additional firing sources.'

'Channel 15' detailed the event: 'Golani Brigade fighters encountered a Hezbollah member in Deir Siryan, resulting in Captain David Hazut's death and light injury to another soldier.'

'Channel 15' noted that post-incident, forces began sweeping operations to locate the Hezbollah member, targeting regional objectives, with sweeps ongoing.

In the evening, Israeli army spokesperson Ella Wawyia posted on 'X': 'During the night (Sunday), a force from the Golani Brigade engaged a Hezbollah militant upon entering a suspicious site near Deir Siryan in Southern Lebanon.'

'The clash resulted in the death of Captain David Hazut (may he rest in peace) and minor injury to another fighter. After extensive sweeps by Defense Forces in the area, forces located and eliminated the suspect inside a nearby building.'
