Qatar's Role in United States-Iran Discussions Sees Positive Developments

Qatar's Foreign Ministry has announced that Qatari and Pakistani mediators have concluded separate meetings in Doha with American and Iranian negotiators, noting significant positive progress on issues concerning the memorandum of understanding signed in Islamabad, building upon the outcomes of the Lucerne Lake summit.

Dr. Majid Al-Ansari, spokesperson for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, revealed that all parties have agreed to continue discussions in the upcoming period, with the next meeting to be scheduled promptly following the end of the former Iranian Supreme Leader's funeral processions.

Communication Channel for Reporting Violations


Meanwhile, Kazem Gharib Abadi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, announced the conclusion of the Doha talks regarding the implementation of the memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington aimed at ending the Middle East conflict. This was reported by official media outlets.

The Iranian official news agency, IRNA, quoted Gharib Abadi, stating that participants agreed on establishing a "communication channel" to report and discuss any violations of the memorandum between Tehran and Washington.

Qatar Strongly Condemns Iranian Aggressions


Concurrently, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, chaired the regular cabinet meeting held at the Amiri Diwan.

At the start of the meeting, the Qatari Cabinet reiterated its strong condemnation of Iran's attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait, considering them a flagrant violation of their sovereignty and a blatant breach of international law. Qatar affirmed its solidarity with these nations and its support for any measures they take to preserve their sovereignty and security.

The council emphasized the necessity of avoiding the consequences of unprovoked attacks in the region, ensuring free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and continuing the path of dialogue and diplomacy to de-escalate tensions. It highlighted building on the achievements of the memorandum of understanding to solidify regional and global security and stability, and support negotiations between the U.S. and Iran to reach sustainable solutions for unresolved issues through dialogue and peaceful means.
