Israeli Channel Reports Operational Coordination Between Israeli and Lebanese Armies

Hebrew Channel 7 has claimed in a recent report that there exists an "operational coordination channel" between the Israeli and Lebanese armies, facilitated by the United States.

The report, released last Sunday, noted that officers from both armies have been managing this channel to establish agreed-upon criteria for determining a "Hezbollah-free zone."

According to the report, the initiative aims to create a unified operational language and reduce friction and misunderstandings prior to executing the trial phase of withdrawing from two villages in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli army considers the clear definition of these criteria as essential to the operation, citing past experiences and the unclear extent of the Lebanese army's control on the ground.

The channel quoted an informed source stating that there is currently no pressure from Lebanon to expedite the withdrawal, which is planned in the coming weeks.

The report also highlighted that, as part of forming this new coordination mechanism, Tel Aviv provided a list of Lebanese army officers previously suspected of leaking intelligence to Hezbollah. The Israeli side demands these officers not be incorporated into the mechanism to safeguard information security and ensure the credibility of coordination channels between the two parties.
