In a swift move, the Information Division of the Internal Security Forces arrested the suspect less than an hour after the crime, which involved the killing of his wife in the town of Old Akkar.
The Directorate General of Internal Security Forces, in a statement, announced that the woman (H.M., born in 1986, Lebanese) was admitted to a hospital in Halba on July 3, 2026, suffering from a gunshot wound inflicted by a hunting rifle to her abdomen. She later succumbed to her injuries.
The statement further explained that specialized units initiated field and investigative procedures, and through extensive inquiries and investigations, the Information Division suspected the victim's husband (K.M., born in 1974, Lebanese) of committing the crime.
The statement revealed that, following precise monitoring and surveillance efforts, one of the division’s patrols was able to locate and arrest the suspect in Old Akkar. During the interrogation, he confessed to shooting his wife, leading to her death, following a domestic dispute.
The legal procedures were conducted against the detainee, and he was referred to the competent authorities as directed by the judiciary.
