Iran Vows Strong Response to U.S. Interference in Strait of Hormuz

The spokesperson for Iran's Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, has asserted that Iranian armed forces will not allow U.S. intervention in the management of the Strait of Hormuz, warning that any American movement beyond Tehran's established arrangements will be met with firm opposition.

Zolfaghari stated that Iran has previously communicated its stance to Washington, emphasizing that any attempt to organize navigation in the strait without coordination with Iranian armed forces will encounter what he described as a "fierce resistance."

He added that the continuation of what he called "American adventurism" could threaten regional security, as well as international maritime and trade operations, highlighting that recent operations by the Revolutionary Guard and the Iranian army reflect Tehran's ability to carry out its threats.

Zolfaghari also argued that cooperation between some regional countries and the United States has increased the likelihood of escalating conflicts.

The Iranian statements were a response to remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, who announced that the United States intends to impose "protection tariffs" in exchange for securing navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, asserting that Washington will continue to target Iranian objectives in response to any attacks on American navigation or interests.
