Trump Asserts Iran Keen on Settlement, Threatens Infrastructure Strikes

In an interview with 'Fox Business' on Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that Iran is eager to meet with American officials. He emphasized that Iran is keen on reaching a settlement with the United States, adding that Washington will decide whether to pursue such action.

Additionally, President Trump threatened to expand attacks on Iran's civilian infrastructure, stating that power plants and bridges would be targeted if Tehran does not return to the negotiation table.

Trump warned in the interview that the U.S. would strike Iran 'very strongly' in the coming nights. He added: 'Next week, things will become very bad for them. We will destroy all their power plants. We will destroy all their bridges if they do not come back to the table and negotiate.'

When asked if the strikes would continue, Trump replied, 'They will continue until I say enough.'

Trump had made similar threats in April, cautioning about bridge and power plant destruction within hours as a pressure tactic to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump asserted that U.S. forces have caused 'severe damage to Iranian military capabilities' and that rebuilding them 'could take about 20 years' if operations cease now.

He clarified Washington's objectives as preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, maintaining free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and undermining Iranian military capabilities, affirming, 'Iran will never have a nuclear weapon.'
