This protest was sparked by the removal of his vegetable stand by local police. In a dramatic escalation, he began to self-harm with a knife, threatening to take his own life.
The Lebanese Army and its intelligence units quickly responded to defuse the situation, reopening the road to traffic. The injured man was subsequently transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
