The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority announced that a 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck Malatya province, located in southeastern Turkey, early Saturday morning.
According to Anadolu Agency, the earthquake occurred at exactly 6:20 a.m. local time (03:20 GMT), with its epicenter located in the Battalgazi area at a depth of 15.59 kilometers, as reported by the Turkish disaster authority.
Residents in the nearby provinces of Elazig, Adiyaman, Tunceli, and Sanliurfa felt the tremors as well.
The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority confirmed that no immediate reports of damage or injuries had been received following the earthquake.
