First Abu Dhabi Bank Secures AED 381 Billion for Sustainable Projects

First Abu Dhabi Bank has released its annual report "Sustainable Finance Impact 2025," highlighting the bank's advancements in mobilizing capital to support sustainable development and transformation projects, achieving a tangible impact on the real economy in the UAE and global markets.

According to the report, the bank successfully facilitated financing for sustainable and transformative projects worth AED 381 billion between 2022 and 2025, achieving 76% of its 2030 goal of AED 500 billion, through 280 deals in 41 countries.

The bank estimates that its funding for green and transformative projects, including renewable and clean energy (nuclear power), waste-to-energy facilities, green buildings, as well as railway network development and electric vehicle manufacturing, has bolstered economic activity and supported job opportunities in key markets. In the UAE alone, the bank's sustainable finance activities have supported an estimated 120,500 jobs within funded projects since 2022.

The report emphasizes First Abu Dhabi Bank's pivotal role in supporting the global energy transition and enhancing sustainable capital markets, clean mobility, water security, and social financing. It also underlines the bank's contributions to achieving UAE's national priorities, including the Climate Neutrality Strategy 2050, Nationally Determined Contributions 3.0, and the "We the UAE 2031" vision.

The bank remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting the national economy, having allocated approximately AED 152.2 billion since 2022 for initiatives supporting sustainable development. This contributes to economic diversification in line with the "We the UAE 2031" vision and accelerates emission reduction efforts across various sectors in support of Nationally Determined Contributions.


The report also notes that First Abu Dhabi Bank has financed over 30,000 electric vehicles. This amounts to more than 57% of the total electric vehicles on UAE roads in 2025, a step that supports accelerating the reduction of carbon emissions in urban transportation, cutting vehicle emissions, improving air quality, and promoting a widespread shift towards clean mobility solutions..
