A horrific accident occurred on the 'Deir Ezzor-Damascus' road in Syria following a violent collision between a tourist bus and a bus belonging to the Syrian Ministry of Interior, resulting in numerous casualties and injuries, according to Syrian media reports.

Initial Toll

The Director of Emergency and Ambulance Services at the Syrian Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the collision between the two buses on the Deir Ezzor-Damascus road has reached 35, with 30 injured. Rescue and transportation operations for the wounded are still ongoing, indicating the possibility of changes in these numbers as the conditions of the injured are further assessed.

Military Helicopters Dispatched to Collision Site
Ambulance and civil defense teams, along with specialized agencies, were immediately dispatched following the accident. The Ministry of Defense deployed military helicopters to the collision site to transport some of the injured, given that the nearest hospital is about 65 kilometers away, necessitating aerial evacuation to expedite the transfer of critical patients to medical centers.
