Southern Council Completes Damage Survey in Western Zouwtar

The technical committees of the Southern Council have concluded the first phase of assessing the damage to homes completely and partially destroyed in the town of Western Zouwtar. This step is in preparation for delivering ready homes to residents, based on directives from the Council's President, Engineer Hashem Haidar.

Under the supervision of the Southern Council's Nabatieh office head, Youssef Mahdi, the engineers and staff completed their preliminary reports in less than a week after conducting field inspections in the town. Western Zouwtar suffered significant and systematic destruction of its infrastructure, homes, and institutions due to Israeli aggression targeting the area.

Today, large excavators were brought into the town to begin removing the rubble of demolished homes. This operation is also spearheaded by teams from the Southern Council.

Food and supply aid was also provided to residents present in the town, in coordination with the municipality.

Council teams are working on preparing ready homes in the courtyard of the Islamic Center in Qa’qaiya al-Jisr. These homes are set to be moved to Western Zouwtar and handed over to residents whose homes were destroyed, as soon as the removal of debris is completed in the coming days.
